NuStat Trauma Pad® XR is made from a blend of highly effective, non-impregnated, cellulose and silica-based hemostatic fibers. The cellulose fibers promote the contact activation pathway of the coagulation cascade by absorbing blood fluids, resulting in the localized concentration of platelets and clotting factors.

NuStat Trauma Pad® XR requires no preparation, are durable, absorbent, easy to apply and control bleeding rapidly. NuStat Trauma Pad® XR contains no coatings, latex or animal proteins.

In a severe liver-bleeding model, NuStat® stopped severe bleeding at all time points. The mean bleeding score at 3, 10, 15, and 60 minutes for test and control sites were all 0.3

Indications:

NuStat® is indicated for temporary control of internal organ space bleeding for patients displaying class III or class IV bleeding. It may also be used for control of severely bleeding wounds such as surgical wounds and traumatic injuries.

Instructions for NuStat Trauma Pad
® XR2:

  1. Open package & remove NuStat Trauma Pad®
  2. Apply NuStat Trauma Pad® XR directly to the inner surface of the wound.
  3. Apply firm pressure so NuStat Trauma Pad® XR makes direct contact with the bleeding area.
  4. Maintain pressure. If bleeding continues, apply new NuStat Trauma Pad® XR as directed above.
